How far in advance should I book my session?
It is advisable to book as early as possible, as we only have a limited amount of sessions available each month and they tend to sell out quickly. However, if you need something last-minute, we might still be able to help you. Just send us a message using the contact form or give us a call.

How do we go about securing our session?
We like to do a pre-session consultation with each of our potential clients. This can be done in person, over skype, or over the phone. As soon as we have agreed on a date and time we will send you a contract and a questionnaire. Once the non-refundable retainer fee of $200 is paid, your date will be secured.

Can the session be done at multiple locations?
Yes, it can. Add $25 to the session fee for each additional location.

How many people can be included in the photos?
It depends on the kind of session you book. Family sessions include up to 6 people, additional people are $25 each.

Can I request specific photos to be taken? (For example grandchildren/grandparents, kids alone, etc)
Yes! We love hearing your requests and ideas, and we always do our best to honor and/or incorporate them.

Can our pets be a part of our photos?
Absolutely! This is a pet-friendly business and you are free to include up to two pets in your photos. Contact us if you want photos of just your pet(s), or want to include more than two pets.

What can I do to make sure my children smile in the photos?
We love to photograph genuine excitement and laughter. Try not to "train" your kids to smile, that usually only leads to forced smiles that can often look fake. Instead, tell us some things about your kids before the session, so we know how to get their attention and make them laugh. We love making kids laugh and don't mind making a fool out of ourselves to get that perfect image :-) If your kid absolutely refuses to smile or laugh, that is fine by us! Our goal is to capture a child's personality, and it's totally fine if that personality includes not being all smiles and giggles all the time.

What if my child doesn't cooperate or throws a fit?
It is not uncommon for a kiddo to throw a tantrum during a session. That's totally fine and normal! Kids often stress out because they can sense their parents being stressed, or because they feel pressured to do something they don't want to do... or  sometimes for no apparent reason at all!  In our personal experience, the best way to deal with it is to give the kid some time. Being harsh often only makes things worse, so we usually just let the situation play out, try to be as kind as possible, let the kid be a kid, focus on some other shots (mommy-daddy shots, other siblings etc.) and then get back to the child in question and try again. Not worth stressing out over at all :-) If the child refuses to cooperate the entire time, we can always schedule a reshoot. Oh, and bribes might help too ;-)

What should we do to prepare for the session?
First of all, relax. Take a deep breath. Everything will be ok :-) We know photo shoots can be a stressful event, but we want this to be a fun experience for you! There are several things you can do to prepare:

  • Check out our Pinterest for outfit ideas.
  • Send us a photo of your outfit choices if you aren't sure. We'll be happy to help you!
  • Inform your children and your spouse about the photo shoot and make sure they aren't stressing out about it, it is supposed to be a fun event!
  • Try not to wear sunglasses right before the shoot, as they often leave marks on the nose.
  • Offer the children a reward for good behavior, but don't try to "scare" them into behaving well. Example: Don't threaten to take their toys away etc., as this often leads to tears.
  • Bring wipes, and please make sure your children's faces are clean and free of boogers.
  • Pack bug spray if we are shooting outside! (We will also bring some just in case)
  • Make sure everyone is well rested and fed (that includes you).
